Making a blog is actually a money-making venture. Google adsense will pay you to let them advertise on you site (blog in this case). Every time someone clicks on one of the ads, you get paid directly to your account.
Plus, there won't be annoying or obscene ads because the actually ad topic depends on your blog! Here's an example: You have a site about stamp collecting. If you sign it up for Google Adsense, the ads will only have to do with stamps, collecting, and postal topics.
